Our girl hasn't "made up her mind" or swum yet - she'll be dipping her armpit in the pond and no further. But we do a couple of swim trips every year and since she hasn't swum I wanted to make sure she was protected. We usually ride with the current which is gentle but accidents can happen and that gives me an idea. I measured her and used the size chart in the product photos - the suggested size Large fits her perfectly. I like this "jaw/head"? removable because she didn't like having it under her chin and it restricted her movement. The vest seems reasonably well made, I don't see any problems with the stitching or the materials used. And I can pick her up in there without too much stress for both of us. I may need this handle if I need to pull her out of the water due to an accident, a snake, or help her up a steep bank. In general I am satisfied. If once in the water we find this doesn't live up to our expectations I will definitely update this review - my duty is to you the buyer not the seller and if this product fails you should be aware of it.
