Review on Hifonics ZEUS ZRX1216.1D Amplifier – 1200W, Super Class D, Mono, Auto On, Nickel Plated, Remote Control, Alum Heat Sink by Patrick Arnautov

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Time will tell, but so far so good. (updated review)

***Check out the updates at the end*** I ONLY fitted it to my car, I have an Ultimax 10" which I ran at 150 RMS. (4ch Rockford Fosgate and it wasn't problem with that the @4 ohm bridge) I wanted a subwoofer with its own amplifier so it could play louder (maybe 5dB louder because you need 10x the power for a 10dB boost) and I can add another 2 Add speakers so the other 2 channels are ready now I turned on the music (bass heavy songs to make sure it's at least as loud as the Rockford Fosgate) and luckily it was actually significantly louder meaning it was over 150 watts (Runs at 1.2 ohms btw, I'll have to use a multimeter to see what voltage it outputs to test performance. Time will tell if it holds up, but I won't put my subwoofer near it its RMS rating, except he maybe once a blue moon. With 150 watts it was more than loud enough, so that there are a little more power reserves. Pictures will be added later. his amp was very reliable, be it really deep bass (15hz) or not that deep, deep bass (anything over 15 and yes my subwoofer surprisingly plays that deep), he pushes the subwoofer and sounds great, no problem. **Update 2** It is now July 2021 and since 2018 the amp has been working without any problems. I built a new box for my subwoofer and am very happy with the performance I am getting from the new box. It is tuned to 19 Hz with passive heatsinks. I'm not one to stress my gear. But for me it put out a good 500 watts, which is what my subwoofer is designed for, and louder than I personally need. The photos have been updated and hopefully Revain will let me add a video. (The 3 visible woofers are passive and hardly move above 25Hz). The original rating was 4 stars but I think it deserves 5 stars now as it has stood the test of time. Bought in 2018 and today, in July 2021, functionally no different. Florida warmth in the trunk with no draft and he never complained or set my car on fire. I hope that in a year or a few years I will be able to update this review again. with the good news that things are still going well.

Pros
  • HIGH QUALITY OUTPUT CONNECTIONS. Connectors can affect sound quality, which is why we've engineered the best with nickel-plated, high-temperature shock-resistant connectors and hex-head screw terminals. Erosion resistant and withstands harsh operating conditions.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
