Review on Experience Ultra-wide Viewing with LG 38WN75C-B - 38 Inch Class Monitor with Adjustable Height and Tilt Adjustment by Ralph Thompson

My review of this monitor is all about productivity. Before buying the monitor, I knew that the maximum refresh rate is 60 Hz and that there is no FreeSync support. Pros: - The backlight does not spread over the edges. - Very small areas of weak IPS light at 4 corners. This is typical for IPS panels - No dead pixels - Uniform brightness across the entire panel. Blackboard. Text looks very clear in Windows 10 system windows (File Explorer, Control Panel, Settings, etc.), browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Edge), and Office apps. Note. I'm using 100% font size (no scaling) at a native resolution of 3840 x 1600) - Bright! In a well-lit room, all I have to do is adjust the brightness to 33 - Colors are bright and accurate (little calibration required) - OSD is easy to use with the joystick - Low power consumption. 32 watts, measured with a watt meter (brightness level 33) - The stand has a small footprint (9 inches from stand x 20.5 inches wide) - Height is easily adjustable - just move the vertical stand up/down. The monitor stays securely in a set position.- The included HDMI cable works great at a maximum resolution of 3840 x 1600 and a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz.- The monitor is wide enough to display 3 MS Word applications side-by-side with reasonable width to open - External DC power source - Less heat inside the monitor and reduces the weight of the monitor. Cons: - Expensive. - There is no cable routing on the stand. - Because the monitor is wide and has only one leg, it wobbles a bit when you type hard on the keyboard. - After using this 38 inch ultra wide monitor, it would be difficult to go back to smaller monitors! Tips: 1) Install the vertical speaker first so that the monitor is face down on the desk (since it is a curved monitor, only the bezel touches the desk). You can then raise the monitor by holding the vertical stand and placing it on the desktop stand. 2) For best results, use the default display resolution of 3840 x 1600. 3) For Windows users, use ClearType to adjust text clarity. 4) After adjusting your monitor's brightness, gamma, contrast, color, etc., use the Windows display color calibration (Go to Windows Settings --> Display color calibration). Resolution is 1600. I changed icon size to medium. You look perfect! 6) I almost bought a 34" (21:9 3440 x 1440) ultra wide monitor. I'm glad I didn't! After seeing 34" monitors at a local store, I changed my mind. The height wasn't what I expected, and it seemed out of proportion to the width. The 34" ultra-wide panel is 13" tall, which is roughly the height of a 27". panels with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The height of the 38" panel is 14.5". The extra 1.5" is very noticeable and makes a 38" ultrawide monitor due to its good height-width -Ratio "normal".
