Works well but needs modification

My Mr. The LongArm has a standard ยพ inch diameter, 5 threads per inch and an Acme style mounting thread. This thread is used in many handle tools, paint rollers, mop sticks with interchangeable heads, floor mops, and every colored pencil I've ever seen. It's simple, neat and reliable. For some reason they know, manufacturers of window cleaning tools like scrubbers and mops don't want you to be able to use the extension cords you already have, so they make handles for their products that don't use the standard Acme thread Choose a cone-shaped tool , sometimes with a locking button protruding through a hole, and sometimes with just a friction fit. This adapter, available for Mr. The LongArm, circumvents that cumbersome design with a simple, heavy plastic adapter with an Acme female thread on one end and a tapered cone on the other. At $6.98, it's relatively cheap and fits well. The problem I found was that while the adapter screws firmly onto the end of my adjustable pole and fits snugly into the tapered scrubber/mop handle, it doesn't stay in place. The tapered end slips out and twists easily, making the tool inconvenient to use. Solve this problem by inserting the adapter into the window cleaner's handle and, while holding it there, drill a small hole in both the window cleaner and the adapter. The situation is not critical. I drilled my hole about an inch from the bottom of the handle and adapter since that's where the plastic is thickest. Be careful not to drill too close to the bottom or you will block access to the male threads that should go in. Extension long arm. If you want to use the adapter with another tool you can remove the set screw and attach to a different cone handle, but for $6.98 I plan on just leaving it attached to the scrubber/mop. The entire assembly is removed in one piece if you wish to use the rod for something else that accepts standard threads. I've seen several reviews mentioning cutting off part of the window tool and having threads on the handle. Cutting the handle should allow it to be attached to the Acme threads. I have not found any such threads in my 12" Libman scrubber/mop.
