Works the same as the one that came with your laptop but is also defective. I've had my shaver for a year now and am on my fourth charger. The braided coaxial cable is flexible and looks sleek, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's durable. After a few months, the charger will start to fail. You must wiggle, twist, or pull the cable for it to work. Over time, the situation will worsen until it stops working altogether. What's particularly annoying is that the adapter itself (expensive) still works great. But you can't just remove and replace the cable.
