I chose this system over the Wolverine system because of the cost and the accessories that come with it. My concern was that the Wolverine base unit was expensive and then I couldn't sharpen a specific tool without ordering additional accessories. This system comes with EVERYTHING to sharpen ALL of my woodturning tools, chisels and planes. Additionally, parts that you think should be plastic are actually beautifully machined aluminum. This system is not without difficulties. The rail locking mechanism is a cam-clamp design that works quickly, but if you don't support the end of the rail closest to you, the cam will pull the rail closer to the grinding wheel, breaking alignment. It also required modifications to the flat folding plate for sharpening braids, planes and chisels. It doesn't snap hard enough to stop moving after pressure is applied. I decided the parts were too smooth where they met, so I sanded them down to plain aluminum, 180 grit, and spoked wheel. Now it works great. Also, there was a small burr on the slide groove that was easily removed with a file, and masking tape took care of a small amount of slop. Sharpen without worrying about not having the right accessory.
