Put everything back together and everything seemed to work fine so I didn't check the millivolts. I walked into a cold house tonight and the insert won't turn on. I tested it with a multimeter and found that the highest millivolt I can get is 426 millivolts. That's 50 less than the one I replaced that didn't work. I thought it was supposed to be 750 but it's nowhere near. Now I can take the whole damn thing apart and stick another one in, oh joy.
