Works very well compared to all the other curling irons we have used. Heats up quickly and evenly. It also appears to be a higher quality product than anything we have had and used before - seems like it will last a long time. It's getting really hot, so hot in fact I'd recommend you start lower on the dial and see how your hair reacts. Find a rhythm and follow it! Also, this is a band maker, not a traditional curling iron. It's something we didn't realize when we had the opportunity to get it. It's wide and flat, giving you ribbons rather than traditional curls. It's also more difficult to use than we expected for that reason, so you might end up burning your fingers and hands more easily. I think that's why Hot Tools wisely includes a protective glove! If you are looking for a quality product I would advise you to consider this. Hot Tools make great products across the board and have plenty to choose from if, like me, you're always hoping for something more commercial without approaching salon/commercial retail prices. Without a doubt the best you can get in this price range.
