I used this camera for a few days and was surprised at how clear the images were even with a mixed light source (window lighting, incandescent and fluorescent table lamps). My three cats hate my camera flashes and share the stage whenever they see my camera flash. When I used the Sony WX-1, they dangled and acted like cats because no flash was used. I took a few shots without flash and they were very sharp! Both of my Nikon compacts, the p6000 and p5100, were more expensive but useless and noisy (high ISO) in low light. Nikon is much slower and cannot focus in low light. They also recover slower for the next frame. I also have a Fuji 70XR camera with low light support. It costs $100 less, but the lens is slower (3.5 vs. Sony's 2.4) and less sharp in low light. Fuji is great for sunny days, but requires a lot of adjustment (use "P” mode instead of XR mode) for low light. XR mode works but is more complicated and less consistent than "P". Sony is so small I confuse it with my iphone and keys. The panorama function works well, but requires some practice. I highly recommend WX1
