Works as advertised. In my basement there is a lamp on the ceiling. I always had to stand on the stairs to turn it on and off. So I brought one of these and used it for a couple of years but the tip snapped. So I replaced it with this one. For the price, if it lasts 2 years each, I'm fine with that. I also took an extension cord with me. This rope is very short, so you'll need something to make it longer to make it easier to pull.
