Excellent leather pads for good hand protection when belaying a climber. Most climbing gloves have extra leather in the wrong places to carry the rope. However! Don't trust the size chart. I have female hands, 7.25 inches around the knuckles, and the size chart recommends "small". The gloves are much larger than necessary. My partner with a palm of 9 inches fits them very well. Go at least one size down if you don't need flexible gloves.
