Normal quality canvas, primed white. The edges do not crumble and cut smoothly. There is a strong piece of thick cardboard on the back of the notebook for you to draw without an easel. Pages are well bound without excess glue and strong enough to be flipped back to front without tearing. However, when they are bent back, they do not lie flat and have a slight bulge/edge to the next metal sheet, which does not affect the surface to be painted significantly. (<2cm on the last side and 0.5cm on the second side.) My only complaint is that the canvas is woven from a single thread and doesn't have the same texture as a high quality canvas, although the texture is still there is, only in smaller quantities and easier to paint. Advantages: 1. High quality canvas that will not tear 2. Pages can be turned instead of torn out: 1. The texture of the canvas is reduced due to the thin weave of the canvas. I compared this canvas to a Fredrix rug and found no significant difference in quality. Both use a great screen. The difference is only in name, size and price.
