Review on Uniden BC906W - Wireless CB Microphone and Speaker Combo with 100 Yard Range, Smart Power Saving, Advanced Noise-Cancellation, and Crystal Clear Audio by Michael Gutierrez

I bought this Uniden CB wireless mic to complement my 980 SSB radio. I'm usually the trail leader on our off-road adventures and needed something to help with communication when the trail was iffy. This usually involves getting out of my jeep with a portable CB radio and walking up or down the trail to scout before the group can get through. The manual CB was fine but had range limitations. This BC906W microphone from Uniden was the ticket! It has a 300 foot range of Radio 980 SSB. It transmits and receives through the main unit, so range is no longer an issue. The volume is more than sufficient. It weighs next to nothing and comes with its own belt clip. It has an 8 hour charge time, but I plug the charger into my jeep all the time, so I plug it back into the charger when I get back in the car so it's always charged. My friends say all my transmissions are loud and clear, so I know the mic is working well. I've read comments from some reviewers that the wireless mic replaces the speaker/external speaker. This only applies if you keep the volume settings normally (as if you were using it outside of the car). If you lower the volume settings on the wireless microphone to the minimum setting, your CB radio speaker or external speaker will regain control. The only thing to remember is that if you leave the car with the mic on, turn up the volume controls so it turns back on. So far the Uniden BC906W wireless microphone has performed flawlessly and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a microphone to use outside of a vehicle, be it a jeep or an 18 wheeler.
