I am a parent of a 3 year old. This case should protect your iPad from damage. The irony is that as soon as I slipped the iPad (5th gen) into the case, the screen literally cracked from the pressure. It is poorly made and extremely disappointed with the customer service response to this faulty case that destroyed nearly $400 worth of product. I'm not the type to ever write reviews, but parents, be aware that this is a terrible iPad case (especially if you put it in little hands). Good luck getting it first in the event. The cost of replacing just the screen is $250 at the Apple Store because it's 2 generations older than the current model. I do not recommend. Try a safer, more reliable brand like Otterbox.
