Review on 4 TB External HDD Seagate Expansion+ desktop drive 4TB, USB 3.2 Gen 1 by Adam Fido ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very high-quality product, I take it not for the first time.

Acquired on September 27, 2022, I decided to do a review on November 15, 2022. From the very beginning, this external hard drive has been used in a video studio, for constant backup of video projects, with periodic disconnection from the network. The connector after so many disconnections did not break and did not begin to stagger, as happens with some models of portable drives - this is a significant plus. I decided to conduct some tests, I attach screenshots. The average size of a project (folder with files) is 200 Gigabytes, that is, copying, writing, deleting, and so on. Inside the case, judging by the tests, is ST4000DM004-2CV104 The price per terabyte came out 21932022. The price per gigabyte was 2,141. Actual volume 3725.9 GB The price at the time of purchase is 7980.

Pros
  • I consider it a very good purchase, although the previous series of such 3 TB screws died very quickly, but Seagate seems to have relied on very durable 5400 rpm screws and they now live much longer. Noise can not hear, the disk lies on the table in front of the monitor. I am satisfied with the purchase. I am attaching a screenshot of the tests with the date of the test.
Cons
  • If we consider the disk as portable, then the main drawback is its size, if it is stationary, then the power supply, the plug itself does not always stick tightly into all network filters, so you need to check the density of how it is stuck, otherwise if it staggers, then even with all the reliability of the Seagate - the disk may get a kirdyk from a short circuit, pay attention to the connection to the network!
