I've struggled with cornices since I moved into this apartment; Each window is a different size and the paint used has a glossy, slippery finish. Also (and this might shock you) I'm on the 1st floor so my window panes tend to slow down when the cars come back to the parking lot and slip through in the winter. Honestly, I don't know how I got the idea to use velcro, but I did. I bought 2 Extreme Outdoor reels because they were thicker and had more holding power. The soft side was glued to the curtains, the rough side was glued to the window frames and voila, I glued 3 sets of heavy curtains (less than 10 pounds per sheet) to the bedroom windows. You have no idea about comfort and keeping warm. No expensive poles to slip and fall over time. This is genius! Note that your Extreme Outside Velcro Tape is also invaluable for interior design. I'm 64 years old, so you junior champions have a lot of hope!
