Review on Pfister S10-3300 Porcelain Cross Rebuild Kit with Three Handles, Polished Chrome Finish by David Berry

The parts appear to be well made and generally of good quality, original Pfister brands. They come with new water valves, a new central shower diverter, new seats and trim kits with handles. You have a 42 year old house and the old fixture had Windsor acrylic handles that always got wet and moldy inside the acrylic where you couldn't access without disassembly. The old diverter dripped from the tap when showering and the hot water valve dripped from the center when turned on. I'm glad I found her. Didn't realize the picture on the front shows the handle shapes that go with them. Look at the close-up of the front of the box. As always when I fix something in this old house, there are always unknowns. None of that was a fault with this kit. The kit is almost perfect except that a faucet turns on and off in the opposite direction than what you're used to when you get cross handles and not levers. It's no problem to just mention it. Now for the unexpected. Upon removal, the old saddle broke into small pieces. The cutouts in the tile wall matched the old installation, but I had to get a dremel and sand all three holes in the tile a bit to get the trim kit for the new valves. Again, the problem was not with the kit, but with my wall. So it's a 20 or 30 minute job at most and if you have unforeseen circumstances it may take longer but it's worth it. Great kit and great value for updating an old house without cutting the wall or doing major plumbing.
