So far so good.: Data storage

I have to say I was very nervous about buying this. So many customers report so many problems with hard drives from almost every manufacturer. Some of the manufacturer's explanations of rigid transport seemed plausible, but have too often been used as an argument. The Samsonite gorilla didn't get along with everyone. Mine came in a Seagate box with impact resistant plastic caps on each end. The Seagate box was in another larger box that contained the other items I ordered. I intentionally did not order the discs individually to force another box and packaging around the Seagate box. The discs were in antistatic bags. So my custom experience was excellent. I grounded my right wrist and ankle to an electrical ground and also grounded my system unit. Three of them are on my computer. I also have a fourth in an eSATA Thermaltake Max 5 external drive enclosure connected to my settop cable TV DVR for flooding the TV schedule. PC-based drives are used sparingly. The DVR setup is used a little more than a PC, but only a few hours a day. To be honest, there isn't much to see on TV. :-) All drives so far have been reliable, quiet, no complaints. On the PC they are very fast. If you can get one for sale they are relatively obsolete now, worth a try if they haven't been abused. Be careful and use ground straps and real bases. Recommended even if it is older. I would buy again if needed. If none are available I would try the Constellation 3 3.5 series as they have a larger cache. 5 stars for me. Hope they work for you too.
