I work almost 24/7. I took a MacBook to work in the "field". After iMac 27, of course, everything is tiny, I installed my favorite Transmit, Coda, PS, Airmail and others, at first it was a little unusual to work, a kind of iPad with a keyboard, I got used to it in two or three days. There is enough performance for all tasks, I mount videos of 5-10 minute videos for YouTube, along with all other things, nothing has ever hung up, at the most loaded moments you can hear a little work of coolers, the rest of the time it is absolutely silent. Separately, I want to note the keyboard, since I write and edit a mountain of text during the day - it is very pleasant to work with it, fast typing does not interfere with anything, there is no extra pressing. The touchpad is huge and very comfortable, but if possible, I still use the mouse, so it's more productive. The sound is good, but again, in comparison with the iMac, it is worse not so voluminous, but for a portable device, perhaps one of the best. From myself I will add: you need a computer for home or office - then only iMac 27, your personal performance will be many times higher than on a 15-inch screen. For everything else, the MacBook is quite suitable as a wearable device. If you regularly purchase this or that apple technique, it will be difficult to surprise you, so don't expect something incredible. Unless you can play with the touchbar for a while, for me it was something new. In general, I am satisfied with the purchase, I recommend. I got a gray space, as for me it looks more interesting than the traditional and a little boring Silver. If you have any questions please ask.
