I can get OLFA with premium blades for my industrial use. .BUT! I need a trial run to trim the edge of some sheer curtains on an ad hoc basis. They came with a variety of blades which served me well for a test run (Olfa saves blades). NO COMPLAINTS. I wish I had bought a rotary cutter many years ago. Crimping washer and straight washer work fine except when loose (user error). The knife is mounted on the left or right. The turning radius is fine and the test shows that I don't need soft turns. Use the straight disc blade for light/medium fabrics, heavy/thin corrugated cardboard, 1/2 inch thick 8 pound carpet pads and most vinyl pads. Holds the edge in all cutting combinations. At this point, they begin to lose edges (one of the two tips in a clerical knife). Cloth cuts great, vinyl is great, 1/2 inch foam is good, cardboard is medium to good for small cuts (use HD Box Cutter for long cuts) and thicker stiff foam is good for cutting and finishing with a good quality bread slicer. Replace blades as soon as they become dull to do quality work. Works well with a metal carpenter's square and a 12" flexible metal ruler. I'm converting all my vinyl cutting to rotary with cheap blades and will for now refrain from using expensive cutter wheels and tools of inconsistent quality. Finally, NOT SO BAD: Enabling security in the beginning is a TWO-handed operation. She will wear out. Use a light touch of silicone spray on the mechanism. A spare spring must be included for happier loyal customers and referrals.
