TLDR: This cable can stably connect the monitor to my MacBook in about 1 second. Storytime: My monitor (Acer) came with a USB-C cable to connect to my MacBook. For about two years I have been dealing with inconsistencies in communication. My workaround was simple: I tried different ports on the MacBook until one of them enabled the connection to the monitor. Or if my monitor was having a "bad" day, I would cycle the monitor on and off multiple times until it connected. I could live with this harassment amid the hustle and bustle of co-workers and the hustle and bustle around me. Anyway, it gave me time to chat with my colleagues and get their latest news. BEFORE . I couldn't go to work anymore! Then. This workaround was the biggest hurdle of my day! I realized how much time I spend on this (about 5 minutes. No kidding)! A quick check with Google led me to believe it was most likely the cable. I looked for several options and I liked this one because it said it could be used to connect to a monitor and the gray matched my computer. Well the cable arrived and it took a full second to connect the monitor. . Then he did it again the next day and again the next day. and so on for several months. So the problem is solved. I guess if we ever get back to work I'll have no reason to chat with my co-workers. So!
