My wife loves it. This took her habit of sticking journals to a new level. She likes shadow-free photos with good, even lighting. 4 stars overall because it's not perfect. 4 stars for durability as we only had them for 2 weeks. Seems sturdy enough, but there's a lot of plastic in there. 5 stars for easy assembly as I didn't need instructions to assemble and most of it is already assembled. 4 stars for ease of use because we only had 2 weeks and the jury is still out on how easy it is to use. She also loves the different color temperatures available with this light. We had some trouble getting the hose to fully extend initially. Just had to spin a bit to unlock all the segments. This is NOT a professional or even professional setup. The pipe reaches a good height if you use it on a low table. The mobile app and remote control work great and were easy to understand and demonstrate to my technically indecisive SWMBO. The remote control is actually very useful when taking photos as you can use it to take photos without the whole setup shaking. Did I mention this is a non-professional installation? This is great for what it does and for the intended user. I haven't measured how far the pipe extends, but it's about 4 feet or less. At this distance the lamp is great. A little more and it really won't have enough power to illuminate a subject like a professional ring light would. We tried shooting through the ring with a DSLR and that works well too. No shadows, not even light. The phone mount easily unscrews and allows for photography through the ring with a DSLR or point-and-shoot. Speaking of the phone holder, it works great. We have the Galaxy S9+ and S8+ and it stays safe with no sticky buttons. To attach a cellphone, simply spread the sides apart, place the phone between them and release the sides. Very easy. The springs holding the sides together create a nice, secure hold and you don't have to worry about your phone falling out and landing face down or on its side and cracking the screen or back. There is a fixed and a fixed mobile phone holder, as well as a more flexible holder. Both work fine. The flexible mount is useful but not flexible enough. Although honestly I'm not sure how it can be made more flexible and still hold the position. Speaking of flexible, the light is adjustable in both direction and height. It has the ability to rotate 360 degrees around one axis and the ability to move up and down on the other. To move up and down, simply loosen the butterfly knob, move the light to where you want it, and tighten the knob again. Holds up very well. If you want the light to rotate slightly left or right, just move it. There's nothing to tighten or loosen, and it's stiff enough to be held in place by friction alone.
