Shorter lifespan than OEM Black & Decker

I've had it a full season now and it's shorter than OEM Black & Decker from three years ago. Battery. I would say around 75% capacity of a 3 year old battery, maybe half the life of a new OEM battery. It runs out before I beat and cut it in a humble family yard. 200 linear feet of edging and another 75-100 feet of grass clippings along the foundation and fence and it's free.
