I carry my iPhone in my pocket when hiking. This summer, on one of the hottest days, my wife and I went hiking the Mother Mountain Loop in Mount Rainier National Park. On the second day we were supposed to climb 2700 feet in 3.5 miles, the last 900 in a half mile. And it was HOT and there was no shade for the last half mile. My iPhone merged into my pocket, bent into the shape of a leg. I bought this new case for my new iPhone X and took it on a 5 day trip to the Olympic Park. Again very hot but no problem. It easily attaches to my backpack straps and easily detaches for a quick shot, and it's very reliable. Ideal.
