Useless for bushwhacking.
What I like about this compass is the built in magnifying glass which makes it very easy to read the rotating dial. What I don't like is that the knob turns too easily and I have to constantly confirm that my bearing is still installed. With my Silva compass I can set the bearing and be sure it stays set until I change it. Not so with my Brunton Tru-arc. This is my second Brunton Tru-arc and both compasses have the same issue.
