Immediately after installing this toner cartridge, I noticed ink smudges/debris at the top of each page. Sometimes the ink also smudges on the page. I wasn't sure if it was a temporary problem, an aging drum, or just a bad cartridge design. After having this problem for several months, I decided to order a genuine Brother cartridge. The problem immediately disappeared. Very disappointed. I was hoping for a cheaper alternative. Update: After posting this review of my experience with toner cartridges, I was contacted by a seller who offered to refund or replace them. I decided to give them another chance with a replacement. I am currently testing a new cartridge and am switching between this product and a Brother OEM cartridge. When toner has gotten into the paper path, it is difficult to recover clean prints. I'm still not 100% sure the replacement cartridge works as well as the OEM but I'm still testing and will update after giving the replacement a little more time to confirm the results. I have to say that EZ Ink's customer service is outstanding. They checked the results on me and, even after sending me a replacement free of charge, offered a full refund. I am not interested in taking advantage of the company and will continue to work with them. Given the great customer service and improved performance of the toner cartridge, I've upgraded my rating to 3 stars for now. A little more time should prove the quality or lack thereof.
