Review on πŸ” Top-Notch Performance: Authentic Toyota Oil Filter for Superior Quality by Rey Hossain

2003 Toyota Camry V6 3.0 - I'm starting to think it makes sense to go OEM if possible

I've watched a few videos on oil filters and Toyota filters seem to be unique oil filters. It looks like Toyota uses regular filter media, but the pleats are evenly spaced from the next pleat, indicating strict quality control. They also use a strong resin on the filter media where the filter pleats are attached down the center rather than gluing metal or paper end caps. It appears to be a unique oil filter design based on various YouTube videos I've watched where people compare oil filters after opening them. Some say it degrades the filter, while others say it's a better design. Since I'm not a filter specialist, I can't comment on that. So I have to follow my gut feeling; I could be wrong, but given that the family has had many Toyota/Lexus vehicles over the years, I don't think Toyota will put their name on a cheap oil filter to save pennies or dollars. They have a reputation as a company that builds durable vehicles based on excellent engineering and the use of quality parts. I would suggest watching such videos yourself and drawing conclusions. This time I ordered it for my 2003 Toyota Camry 3.0 after using the cheapest for many years.
