I love these adorable bees. You need 3 AA batteries per set at home. The timer feature works great - they automatically turn on at 5am and off at 9am, but you can extend the on time or adjust the start time to your liking. The remote control works well, no batteries are needed. Each console controls its own tip, not other neighboring strings. Therefore, all of your spikes can be in different modes - solid, flickering, etc. I have bees that squint like fireflies in the jar, and the bees run around the cage shelf. This eliminates the need to turn off the Christmas lights in February so you can keep those glowing bees on!
