For those wondering what you are getting here, see the attached photos of the internal parts. It's better made than most regular no-name USB to serial converters I've seen, decent leak-free except for the bit at the very end where the Waveshare logo is, the two passive ones above the USB port a little close to the RS232 connector, but between it and the (grounded) screws have a plastic plug. The two connecting components are an isolated (1kV) Mornsun 80505 DC/DC converter and an ADUM1411 optocoupler with 3.75kV isolation. The rest should be visible in the photo. Interestingly there is a jumper for the 120 ohm RS485 terminator which I don't think is mentioned anywhere. Pretty decent for the price.
