I used a couple of separate USB to serial converters in my hobby shack and bought two more devices that needed serial ports. I came across this article and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. It was very easy to install on my Win 7 Pro 32-bit system and the product works very well even in a strong RF environment. Each serial port in the Octopus cable is labeled (A, B, C, D) and the windows are assigned Com8, Com9, Com10, Com11 respectively. These assignments persist across reboots, eliminating the need to reconfigure the application software. No fuss, no fuss. This product uses the latest ultra-reliable FTDI-4232 chipset and Microsoft certified drivers. As the name suggests, money well spent!
