I am using this with a Raspberry Pi and it connects 4 switches at the same time. The only problem is that one of the 8 connectors was giving problems so I just used a different console cable.

The CD that came with the device had a huge selection of operating systems and it contained my coveted Windows 7. But by following the instructions closely I couldn't get the FTDI driver to work. The email response from the manufacturer and the YouTube video link narrated by the Scot looked good, but it was for Windows 10 and it didn't solve my problem either. So I spent $40 on something that after a few days of effort doesn't work at all.

I think you get what you pay for, it was more than similar items found at auctions for less money. The big difference is that this one works!. Bought this for use with PowerSDR and WSJT-X rather than messing around with virtual serial port programs as both programs run on the same computer and also bought a null modem adapter (female to female) and connected the two cables together. A very simple solution, although a little overkill, leaves two additional RS-232 ports for antenna/rotor control in the future, and is probably slightly cheaper than some of the 'virtual' serial port options that do the same.

Plugged it in and the Linux kernel recognized it with no problems. Ports work as expected. I wrote udev rules that are triggered by the cable serial number so that there are predictable /dev symlinks for these four ports no matter what other USB serial devices are connected.
