Review on 🚴 Optimized for SEO: Osprey Sylva 5 Women's Bike Hydration Backpack by Robert Sisco

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fantastic bag for the most part

This is my first hydration pack and for the most part I love it. Good details first, this backpack suits me very well. I'm a slim woman and this backpack is perfect for my back. Thanks to the chest and waist straps, the weight does not fall on the shoulders and neck. The mesh frame on the back makes the pack a little heavier and I was concerned at first, but with the chest and waist straps I don't feel any extra weight on my shoulders. I love the mesh on the back. It's very breathable and my clothes don't sweat like they would on a regular backpack. There is enough space in the back to store a decent amount of stuff. I could fit my battery, wallet, some energy bars and some glasses in my bag and still have room. The water bladder system works well. The upper part is folded up and hung on a clip. I haven't had any issues with leaks and the system works in such a way that I find a leak unlikely. The material of the bag is a little thin, which I like. It's definitely not a slashguard. I can zip up a bike helmet mount to try and prevent pickpocketing, but it doesn't work as well as an anti-theft device. Another thing I don't like about this bag and the reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that there is no cover for the bit head. It also keeps falling off the little magnet that keeps it in place. When I look at my friends' bags I see that they all have caps and they don't fall out because they are integrated into the shoulder strap. This is a major design flaw. For example, I had to stop using it in the middle of a hot day after using the toilet and the toilet splashed me while flushing. In the toilet I tried to be as careful as possible not to get the nozzle dirty, but to no avail. I constantly make sure that the nozzle does not fall off and end up dirty somewhere. Depending on the shirt I'm wearing, I can sometimes alleviate this problem by inserting a pad in the bra. It's not perfect, but at least the attachment won't fall off and fall on something rough. Overall I really like this bag but due to the design flaw with the bit attachment I would have preferred other bags.
