I've been using this waffle maker for a few weeks now and it works great. Very easy to use and my waffles turned out amazing. The device has a high-quality finish and looks good in the kitchen. In fact, there are no hidden spots for the batter to spill out if it overflows, making it very easy to clean. When the device is off and closed you can set it up and store it upright, although there is no latch to keep the lid closed but that's not a problem. Note: If using the Krusteaz waffle mix, the 2-3 ingredient mix in this waffle maker makes exactly 2 full 8-inch waffles. I bought Presto for my mom and it makes great waffles too (7 inch diameter). I ultimately settled on the Cuisinart because I felt that the Presto's plastic base would not stand the test of time. Additionally, Cuisinart automatically times and has an audible completion alarm based on the tanning bar, while Presto has a manual timer that you can set yourself in one-minute increments.
