Excellent Linux workstation motherboard (OpenSuse) with AMD 3970 processor, 128 GB memory (Corsair 3600 MHz), 3 HDDs and 4 SDDs (Legacy), air-cooled (Nokua NH -U14S ) and a low graphics card (GeoForce GT 710) to run a 4k monitor at 60Hz. I use the system for code development (MPI and openmp) and some production runs. The mainboard runs stably for several days under full load with 64 threads. Dynamic overclocking results in 3.9 to 4 GHz on all cores. Max core temp is 83C and idle around 48C in my home office at 80F (Florida). The installation went smoothly and the system has been running for many months without any problems, apart from the initially missing sound chip support in Linux.
