Don't waste your money

Threadripper 3rd gen supports 88 PCIe lanes, but try to find a motherboard that supports 88 PCIe lanes. Gigabyte is just lip service to overhead. I'll call BUNK. 1st and 2nd generation Threadrippers supported 64 PCIe lanes and these motherboards had 64 PCIe lanes. Once a week after turning on the computer I have blank screens. I have to do a hard shutdown and then turn it back on. During the loading process, I have to keep pressing the Delete key to get into the BIOS. And you know what, like…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Great when it works!

If the board works fine, no problem. The first one I got was DOA, nothing turned on after plugging it in. I had to take it to a computer repair shop to check the power supply and make sure I assembled it correctly. After sending the board back and getting a new one it worked fine until after a few months my sound became unstable. It distorts the audio at random times. Over time, the situation worsens, sometimes I have to turn the computer off and on again to get rid of the distortion. This…

Memory Touches Radiator

What kind of design? When using 4+ Trident Neo memory sticks, there is no space between the D2 slot and the heatsink! I was able to get this to work with thinner memory and no backlight, but this design also looked like it might conflict with Wraith. CPU cooler ripper. Looking at the photo, I should have seen this issue between near the memory slot and the heatsink. :(

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Almost everything included

Stable motherboard for workstations.

Excellent Linux workstation motherboard (OpenSuse) with AMD 3970 processor, 128 GB memory (Corsair 3600 MHz), 3 HDDs and 4 SDDs (Legacy), air-cooled (Nokua NH -U14S ) and a low graphics card (GeoForce GT 710) to run a 4k monitor at 60Hz. I use the system for code development (MPI and openmp) and some production runs. The mainboard runs stably for several days under full load with 64 threads. Dynamic overclocking results in 3.9 to 4 GHz on all cores. Max core temp is 83C and idle around 48C in…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

Works well, although there are some oddities

For the most part, this motherboard is fine. It works great for gaming and high-bandwidth computers (it's not a bottleneck). Overall, it's great for the price (considering it's $2-$300 less than other MOBOs). That's more expensive than the ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme MOBOA. A few things to note: - There is a fan on the motherboard chipset that the case has. This case protrudes slightly from the circuit board. I had to use some force to install the GPU because the case didn't allow it to be fully

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

They had what I needed in stock

I have built 4 machines with this motherboard. My computer crashed and I couldn't get help from Gigabyte support. I was dying to get this PC back online so I searched for a TRX40 Pro Wifi motherboard in hopes of finding an exact replacement. OHAHO had one so I ordered it. I received a new board quickly and was able to continue troubleshooting my PC. I don't know what else to say. I got what I needed. Thanks very much!

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Upgrades
