Six months ago I installed an AQ-5300+.55 filter system and today I replaced the filters with these 5300+R cartridges. No leaks. I'm a handyman, not a plumber. But today I had a plumber at my house on another matter and I asked him about these filters. He installed many of them. He pointed out that there are a lot of little rubber grommets on the connectors and if the grommet slips or you don't make the connection properly, you're bound to get a leak. When removing and installing drip pans (plastic cylinders with filters) pay attention to all black gaskets: make sure they are installed correctly and clean them if they appear dirty. a significant amount of sediment and other things. The new filters are white, but after half a year the sediment filter turned dark orange-brown and the other two dark gray. The plumber recommended that I check the filters after three months of use and maybe consider replacing them after three to four months instead of six for my particular plumbing system. I saw another reviewer here who waited two years to change their filters and I really, really wouldn't wait that long. My filtered water didn't look terrible or smell bad after six months, but it's definitely better with new filters. A good product in my experience.
