I have single bulb ceiling light fixture in several rooms and the regular 1600 lumens 100 watt equivalent is too dim for work from home. I purchased 6 different LED bulb products on Revain that can fit, maximum length 7.5 inch, advertised from 4500 lumens (40 watts) to 7000 lumens (60 watts).At daytime, I placed the meter near the laptop, put each type of bulb in, and record the measurements. With only daylight, light fixture off, 215 lumens; with this Intpro 40W LED 4500LM E26/E27 5000K bulb, 375 lumens. That is the highest reading I got out of 6 different LED bulbs, 40 lumens higher than the 60W bulb with the 7000LM rating. I am surprised that this bulb is almost twice as bright as the others. More light output and cheaper, better material and design, not sure about longevity, but I bought 4 more units.I believe the manufacturers come up with the lumen number rating for their bulbs by multiply the number of lumens per chip to the number of chips, therefore ignoring how mechanical design and material quality can affect the end result . When light sources are packed closely together, they don't combine 100%, and there are a lot of light loss. The Intpro 40W bulb aluminum frame design (3.35" diameter x 6.5" length) seems optimal as the spacing between chips are farther and the bulb is more spherical shape.
