I was immediately impressed by this beautiful piece of machined steel. Indeed, as an object it is impressive, robust and elegant. But I bought it to grind salt with one hand. I am disabled and have limited strength in my arms. The plunger takes a lot of pressure, sometimes more than others I think when there is a larger crystal in the grinding part. Even if you clean the barrel first, as recommended by the manufacturer, the downstroke will be difficult. I suppose I could find a smaller salt, but then I could just buy regular table salt. If you have strong hands without arthritis or other dexterity issues, you probably won't even know what I'm talking about, but if my situation is similar to yours, I don't recommend it.
