We bought one of the stainless steel models to test. It works so well we ordered another one. Its sleek design is perfect for a portable coffee grinder. We have large meat grinders for cooking in the kitchen, but they're too big and clunky for a table or tray. These gourmet coffee grinders are ideal for use on trays or on the table. I've had it for over 10 months now and it's still working as good as day one. Clear 5 stars!

I love fresh peppers and keep this item in my center console for eating on the go. It gives a good grind, which I would call medium. The build quality is solid and I expect to use it for many years to come. Cleaning the device is difficult as there is no easy access to the chamber with the grinding rod in the middle. I only had to do this once when it arrived to ensure it was free of any dust or manufacturing residue. I am happy with it and it has served me well.

I thought it would be good for cooking but it really isn't. It's only one-handed if you have a big, strong hand. I got several other women to try it and none of us were able to use it one handed. It really defeats the point of why I bought it. Also, I had it for about two months and it fell apart twice. Of course it's easy to assemble, but I don't think I have to. I really don't recommend this. The best part is that it looks cool. Otherwise it really doesn't work.

We bought a Grind Gourmet pump to replace one of our original grinders we bought about 18 years ago. The new Grind Gourmet mill was far inferior in quality to the original German pump mill. Pay attention to the differences in the illustrations (original - pepper, Grind Gourmet - salt). The Original is much heavier and more stable than the Grind Gourmet and performs much better. We had the original coffee grinder and the only problem was that one of us hadn't read the instructions that came with it and had overfilled the machine. I contacted the company and they were very nice and sent us the updated version which we received this week. It's easier to use, and since we've read and followed the instructions, we now have a salt shaker that just works and doesn't require a lot of thumb pressure to activate. I was immediately impressed by this beautiful piece of machined steel. Indeed, as an object it is impressive, robust and elegant. But I bought it to grind salt with one hand.
