As mentioned, this unit falls apart easily. I was hoping that since it's metal it would survive the plastic avocado tools I've broken in the past. The end of this avocado slicing tool protrudes from the handle. I have no idea why this thing seems to be bound with cheap glue, but don't expect it to last long. Another thing is the side of this avocado pitting tool is difficult to use. You may need very ripe avocados to make this job easier, but this tool makes it messy. I don't know why this avocado tool has high ratings but my search for a reliable tool continues.
