Each of these candles runs on 3 AAA batteries and lasts around 150 hours. There are constant light settings with three levels of brightness and a flicker mode with fast or slow flicker. Slow flickering most closely resembles the flame of a real candle. See my attached video for slow blink mode. The LED stays nice and cool so they are safe to use near flammable jewelry. The remote control is easy to use but only has a range of a few feet so you have to hold it close to adjust the candles and turn them on and off. Each candle is approximately 10" tall and can be easily removed from the gold bases for storage. Batteries are inserted from the bottom of the candle by unscrewing the cap from the bottom.
