Not terrible headphones if you're not looking to spend a lot of money. I would suggest something more original for folks that enjoy drawing attention to themselves. These rest comfortably on the head, albeit there is a light pressing sensation on the sides as you put them on. The "L" and "R" markings for left and right headphones are so small that they are nearly impossible to see. These headphones cannot be described as reliable due to the extremely imbalanced sound. Even the "triangles" symphonic instrument is rendered nearly inaudible at its highest notes, its trill blending into an unpleasant whistle below, and only from 9-8 KHz turning into something acceptable, all in stark contrast to the advertised features. The brushes on the cymbals do not create the image of transparent "sand" - they just hiss, making the cymbals sound crushed and incomprehensible. The mids seem slightly dry, as if listening in a plywood box. The bass is the biggest issue here because it is superfluous even at moderate volumes, making a pressing, humming, tambourining sound without any clear definition. The bass drum dominates the drum set, squelching the more prominent toms and drowning out any other sounds. In sum, these earbuds are designed for low-end mobile devices playing mp3/128 kbpc files or for listening to really basic electronic music like "boom-thump." Even if you've already lost most of your hearing, you'll still enjoy the low-frequency beats at a modern disco, and your remaining hearing will be reliably destroyed. It's possible to listen to audiobooks, but without any background music, as the low frequencies would quickly give you a headache. If you use this device to listen to vinyl through a phono stage and a high-quality headphone amplifier, for example, the sound that will reach your ears will be that of a generic mp3 at 128kbps with a highly unbalanced frequency response. You can find more popular headphones of the same type for this price or even much less. Hearing is the most expensive, you can't replace it or buy it, thus my judgment may sound excessively harsh since I compared the AKG-K701 and Fostex-T50 to my top-level headphones.
