Bought another one, worth the money. Be careful with Windows 8

This is the second Fantom G Force 2TB USB 3.0 external hard drive that I have purchased. The first device I bought was connected to my Windows 8 machine for a long time. About a month ago the first device failed I thought. After speaking to the computer manufacturer late at night, I found out that the southbridge drivers on the motherboard needed to be updated. So after updating the Southbridge and BIOS, Fantom was working again without any problems. What I am talking about here is that the hard drive has a good design and offers high data transfer speeds. This is a plain USB hard drive with no backup software or crap. If you buy this device and connect it to Windows 8 or 8.1 I would first make sure your Southern drivers are up to date otherwise you may have problems with this hard drive. The second device is connected to my HP desktop with Windows 7 SP1 and is still working great with no issues. The only criticism was that these devices are quite noisy when the internal drive is running. Unlike those cheap blocks of plastic, this drive is really nice black anodized metal.
