These filters are designed for HEPA air purifiers. The local cost at the HVAC store is $8 more for the exact same filters. The filters are of high quality, as expected, so for this fixed-income retiree, it's great to be able to get them at a better price. By design, these filters are difficult to install. We had to undo the first two changes to help the HVAC installer. It involves attaching about a dozen plastic "fins" to each filter bend. It's tedious and easy to miss a fold that messes up the entire setup. Otherwise, the filters will do an excellent job of cleaning the air, and you will have to deal with a difficult installation.
