General purpose measuring cup but worn out after 1 year of washing in the dishwasher

My mother's old pyrex measuring cup lasted many years longer than you might expect before the markings became illegible, most likely because that used to be the case so was engraved on the glass under painting. However, that's the only complaint I have. Other than that, it's the best measuring cup I've found, and other plastic cups, like OXO corner cups, wear out even faster with regular use and washing in the dishwasher. The biggest benefit of these Pyrex jars is that you don't have to worry about putting very hot food in them which will either damage the product or leach the chemicals out of the cheap plastic. You can put it in the microwave and cook something in it. We use them so often that we need to have cups 1 and 2 on hand, as well as a giant cup 8. But cup 1 wears out the most because we use it the most. With almost weekly use, I reckon it will be replaced every 2 years or so. It's not scary, but if there were a better made version, even if it was twice the price. It seems like a terrible waste.
