Review on πŸ”Œ 2-Pack 12V-24V DC Reset Fuse Holder with Manual Reset for Car Audio Stereo Switches and Solar Inverter Systems - 40A Inline Circuit Breaker Reset Fuse by Mark Bennett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Powered by a circuit breaker. Not suitable for circuit breakers.

I bought and installed two of these to use as disconnect and circuit breakers. One for the battery circuit and one for the solar panels. However, they are very difficult to reset if you press the button to disable them. I thought I had a bad solar regulator until I checked the voltage with a voltmeter. I found that both circuits were open when the lever was in the closed position. I'm not sure what the secret of resetting it is, but just because the hand returns to its original position doesn't mean it's reset. After several tries it's working fine now, but I'm a bit frustrated that I can't use it to disable it. I don't notice the voltage drop on mine, but then I only use them for 200W. I suspect that the reviewers who had the voltage spikes didn't get a full reset and therefore had too high a resistance, but that's just a guess. I'm afraid to turn mine off as they are very difficult to reset. My idea of the need for a circuit breaker is to trip in the event of a short circuit. In my less than ten amp circuit, these 30 amp breakers will trip if the wire is frayed or otherwise shorted. I don't think they are designed to accurately limit the amperage. I should be able to double the power in my setup and they should still be usable.

Pros
  • Application: Widely used in solar system, battery charging, inverter, car AV system, boat, ship, bicycle, RV and DC audio amplifier system.
Cons
  • Very expensive
