the ones that were on the old CV articulated shoe stuck out a lot and eventually fell off. This is on a small Polaris Ranger 4x4 that has very little space in the hubs. Instead of repeating standard ratchet clamps, I bought simple low profile straps and this tool. This tool is easy to use, simply thread the end through the tool, twist the handle to tighten, bend and trim the excess. Just make sure when cutting that you trim the free end so that it protrudes slightly past the tabs holding it in place. Once the tabs are in place, the low profile clips are mostly flush with the rubber boot and are much less likely to be ripped off.
