I am allergic to nickel which causes blisters on my skin over time. They obviously contain nickel because my skin is allergic. However, they do not claim to be hypoallergenic. Also, it took several days for this to happen. If you have the same type of allergy but only use them occasionally, I'd say you're fine. But if you use them every day, look elsewhere. They work well and even survived the packaging trip through the washer and dryer! I had to throw away about half of it due to rust caused by that accident. But I am very impressed and thankful that neither the plastic packaging nor the plastic lids melted in the dryer.
