This is normal, sockets and USB ports all work fine when we tested them prior to the trip. But the plug dangles in a side socket designed to hold it when not in use, and I'm not happy about that. My old Monster Outlets to GO stores (which were with my daughter when traveling) don't seem to be available at the moment so I had to look for a replacement. The Monster had more outlets and only one USB, but the USB was at the end of the alley so it didn't take up valuable real estate. And as mentioned in another review, the storage tank could actually serve as another functional outlet in a redesign. How the Monster product worked - the included plug was plugged into another working outlet when stowed away. I emailed the seller about my loose "secret nest" thinking maybe I just received a defective item that could be replaced. The seller replied that the loose fit was intentional so as not to damage the cord/plug when removing. So this is a feature, not a fault on the part of the seller. I do not agree. Good. I'll see how it will be on our upcoming trip. If the plug falls out of the socket while in storage, I'll send it back.
