I would send it back but not worth the hassle.
I can't believe I bought this thing. Its body is plastic, the spring clip that holds the thermometer to the foam container is too flimsy to hold the thermometer securely in place, the range is ridiculously short. I should have looked before ordering. I can hardly believe it. other positive reviews about this piece of junk. I think if the only thing you used to use to take your temperature was your finger then this is an improvement, otherwise I'd recommend throwing it away.
